Description

Qigong is an ancient Chinese contemplative practice focused on movement, breath and mindful attention. "Qi" means lifeforce energy and "Gong" means skills. Qigong is based on the same Traditional Chinese Medicine model as acupuncture is. It's simple to do, playful, fun and easy. As people practice, they get out of their heads, let go of worries that consume them, and attune to their physical bodies, emotions,  and physical sensations that provide so much somatic information.

The research on Qigong indicates it is helpful in:

  • Increasing energy level and stamina

  • Improving balance and flexibility and stability

  • Improving immune function

  • Improving mood

  • Decreasing pain

  • Increasing range of motion in joints

  • Improving sleep

  • Lessening anxiety

  • Processing and releasing emotions

  • Improving mental focus and clarity

Learning Objectives -
Participants will be able to:

  • Understanding the basic principles of human health and illness from a Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective
  • Utilize how Qigong can help practitioners regulate their nervous systems, ground and center themselves.
